Primary 6B

This term P6b have learned a variety of different subjects and here are some of my favourites! First is judo! Even though it was short it was very fun! We learned different pins and strategies to get out of pins and we even learned how to get someone out of a block (Ruby).

This term one of my best moments was rugby and the rugby coach’s name was Olly. We played a game called netball rugby where one person is standing in a wee box and the rest of the team is running around with the ball passing it and trying to  get the ball to the person in the box. We also played a game but it wasn’t contact, just touch. We had rugby for four weeks (Callum).

P6b have been reading a book called ‘The Creakers’. It is about a girl called Lucy and these monsters snatch all the adults. She is amazing and brave and strong. Also she saves the adults and helps everyone. It is one of the best books. Actually, we based our classroom door on the Creakers to celebrate World Book Day (Maddison).

My favourite thing that we do in P6b is short burst writing because we get to write about different things, like we have some different pictures to choose from. Then we get to write about the picture we have chosen. Right now in writing we are doing openers but we have done connectives. We also have a run chart what we use to measure how well we are doing. Right now I think our highest on the run chart is about 70%. Sometimes we also do freestyle writing which is when we get to choose what we write about (Molly).

We had a class trip to Perth Concert Hall called ‘Sounds of the Deep’. I discovered other schools went as well to listen to the ocean music. After a while of waiting the show finally started. They (the orchestra) also did some acting, pretending they were on a boating mission. Afterwards we all talked about how fun it was and had a good laugh (Scarlett).

I have enjoyed the morning challenge tasks. We have made up foods, inventions and even food which gives you powers. Also we used lots of letters to make up words, it was so fun! (Archie).

This term P6b was learning about biodiversity. First we learned about what biodiversity is, then we learned there are different types of animals and what types of food they eat (carnivore, omnivore and herbivore).  Next we ;earned that if we aren’t careful some species will go exntinct before we even find them. Finally we learned of different things we can do to help (Sophie P).

Overall term 3 has been a rollercoaster and for the first time I am excited for term 4. I normally don’t like term 4 because it seems to take forever to get to sports day! (Arran)
