We are the pupils of P6A Our teacher is Mr Boyd. You can find us in Room 15. There are 22 boys and eight girls and we are very excitable. We like to have debates about subjects in the news. We are very lucky to have a buddy class who are P3a [Mrs Lister]. Our PE teacher Mrs Bell has recently been teaching us the long jump. In class, we have been trying to improve our handwriting by learning joined script.
Term 3 - We had two school trips to the concert hall, one of which was to see ‘The Sounds of the Deep’ performed by the RSNO. The other concert was performed by the Bands of the British Army. During the term we did four weeks of touch rugby on Thursday mornings. NSPCC and Buddy the Speech Bubble came to see us and encourage children to speak out to trusted adults like family members. Since World Book Day, when we were given a copy of Safiyyah’s War, we have been reading this novel by Hiba Noor Khan. We drew some alternative front covers and have also have done some writing tasks and comprehension. Our main topic last term was Biodiversity and we learned about birds migrating, metamorphosis, food chains and webs, endangered animals and climate change effects. We listened to a series of radio programmes about wildlife in Scotland such as squirrels, salmon, beavers and sea eagles. In the last few weeks we have been doing measurement, area and perimeter in maths. One of our topics in term three was learning about Europe. Four people in our class got the chance to do the Euro Quiz and represent RDM against the other schools in PKC.
