Primary 2B

Term three has been full of exciting learning activities for Primary 2b!

Our term 3 topics are:

IDL: Food and Farming

Maths:

Literacy:

·       Reading + Fred talking with a clear voice

·       Writing clear sentences with capital letters, finger spaces + full stops

·       Using adjectives + connectives

·       Listening and talking

“Some of our favourite moments from term 3 so far…”

·       “I like maths because you get to learn new things. My favourite thing is learning about money. I liked when we had a farm shop in the classroom to buy things.”

·       “I liked making friendship trees in art. When we got to use paint and share our fingerprints, that was fun!”

·       “I liked when we got a high score in writing for using adjectives. When we described The Rainbow Fish.”

·       “We love Read Write Inc!”

·       “I like adding and subtracting.”

·       “I like learning to tell the time.”

·       “I love school because it helps me concentrate and learn.”

·       “We like being creative and playing.”

·       “We like when Miss Smith reads us stories.”

·       “I like when we got new toys for our classroom.”

·       “I like when we got a new class mascot, it makes me feel safe and ready to learn.”

·       “I liked decorating our classroom walls and door.”

·       “I liked judo because we got to wrestle with the black belts.”

·       “I like going to rights respecting group because it is nice and fun!”

·       “I like doing gym with Mrs Bell because she is very kind and a great teacher!”

·       “I liked creating the Rainbow Fish for World Book Day.”

·       “I like going to assembly because they tell us new things and we get Braw Awards.”

This term Primary 2 enjoyed a visit from Daisy the milking cow and her calf thanks to the RHET (Royal Highland Education Trust). We learned about the journey of milk, how to make butter and everyone took turns to milk Daisy the cow! “It has hard work!”

Our class was selected to take part in a Sequoia Music workshop. We listened to the musicians play the violin and cello. We learned about the water cycle through music and used our senses to think about how the music made us feel. We made some of our own music and created music booklets to thank our visitors!
